Check out the article, “Board-Certified Doctors Offer Mind, Body, Spirit Healing Approach” in the magazine Inside Tucson Business. Dr. Bruce and I, along with LightHearted Medicine, are featured describing the evolution of holistic medicine practices. Dr. Andrew Weil and his University of Arizona College of Medicine Program in Integrative Medicine are also featured in a separate article of this edition.
Is Teen Texting Tiring?

I have three (count them, three!) teenagers, and I’ve got to say that cell phones and texting have forever changed the way that teens interact with each other. Fast texting has become the life skill that replaced fast typing, and some of their friends are particularly addicted to this new form of communication. Even when a friend isn’t there in physical space, they are ever present in virtual space. In fact, complaints in movie theaters have shifted from cell phones ringing to teens texting each other and disturbing others with the light of their monitor. Heck, even my parents and my brother now use texting as their main way to get in touch with me. This may be more convenient, but one question has not yet been answered - can this be harmful to us?… (more)

I often receive emails from friends talking about their lives, their thoughts on the state of the world, whatever comes to mind for them. I received a particularly fascinating email recently from a friend named Charla Hermann. She is one of the most interesting people I know, having lived the life of an executive at CNN, a consultant to Fortune 500 businesses, and a shamanic spiritual leader known throughout the country. That’s a lot of living in one lifetime!
She shares some of this history, while discussing her visions for the future. Check it out - it’s a fascinating memoir of a life well lived.

Are Baby Bottles Safe?

Here’s some concerning information - the plastics used in baby bottles have been found to be linked to cancer, diabetes and obesity. These products contain a chemical, bisphenol A (BPA), that has been found in independent studies to be related to these three serious illnesses… (more)
