I have three (count them, three!) teenagers, and I’ve got to say that cell phones and texting have forever changed the way that teens interact with each other. Fast texting has become the life skill that replaced fast typing, and some of their friends are particularly addicted to this new form of communication. Even when a friend isn’t there in physical space, they are ever present in virtual space. In fact, complaints in movie theaters have shifted from cell phones ringing to teens texting each other and disturbing others with the light of their monitor. Heck, even my parents and my brother now use texting as their main way to get in touch with me. This may be more convenient, but one question has not yet been answered - can this be harmful to us?… (more)
