Thanks Molly - this is great. As I read, I thought that this is also support for the child that still exists in each of us. These are stressful times for so many, and sometimes in so many areas of life at once. As I move through my own challenges, although I don't have children, these guidelines will be reminders and practices that I know will make a difference in how things turn out.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for asking! The movie was not about holistic medicine. In fact, they transformed the whole Synchronicity Center into a man's bachelor pad! The movie was centered around this one set, and I hear the set itself became a character of its own in the filming.

This is actually the second movie that has been made around here over the years. Several years ago, there was a movie called "Jesus' Son" starring Billy Crudup, Holly Hunter and Dennis Hopper that was filmed in the street right next to our house. If you watch that movie, the "Phoenix" scenes in the last third of the movie were all actually right in front of our house here in Tucson and the home they featured is next door to us.

The Synchronicity Center has also been visited by people from all over the world. Workshop leaders from such far-away places as Norway, Germany, Australia, Tibet and Africa have all found their way here. I am continually amazed at the healing power of this place and the incredible people that this Center has contained. It's the perfect example of, "If you build it, they will come!"

I've fought with the punishment/not being good enough as a reason for the bad things in my life. Now I truly believe that God is always present in good times and bad. I don't think he causes the bad or punishes us, but instead is there to help us through it. Human beings caused the economic crisis, not God. We may not have personally have done anything to create suffering as a result of the economy, but life is and the ripple effect is strong. The crisis is a consequence of behaviors & decisions, not a punishment. And God's and our own sense of humor will go a long way in helping us through the hard times. I do believe we have a loving God who watches over us. I believe He even cries for/with us in our difficult times. But He never leaves us, even if we turn our back on Him. I believe He is there waiting to help us when we're ready to accept it. For me, one of His greatest gifts is peace of mind regardless of what is happening. If I ask and trust, I find it.

Hi Rebecca!
Love your post.
Great advice and I've been caught quite a few times doing a little dance move here and there. It does put smiles on everyone's faces, including my own. :)
Thanks a bunch for sharing.

Hi Dr. Molly,
Love your 7 stages. I feel like I'm heading out of stage 5 and into stage 6 but I'm not in my older years yet. Very interesting since it seems like I can relate to almost every stage in some way.
Thanks.

This sounds a bit like "No pressure: No Diamonds." I will have to think how I can present this to my Monday yoga class who now look forward to my, or your, Monday words of wisdom. It is relative to the gentle slow journey into an aligned asana. A change from listening to me saying "Don't worry, it'll come"

Thank you Molly. What a great quote and musing to capture what I and so many people I know are working to accomplish in this time of challenge and uncertainty.
I observe the fear I sometimes feel as it connects with all of those shadow aspects of myself - parts of my past that would have me believe what I dream is not possible, or that I need to turn away and become more insular to stay safe.
Then I watch as I am able to love that part of me, hold that fear in my heart and respond to whatever challenge there is in that moment from a place of acceptance and faith. I falter, for sure, but I know that each moment is another opportunity to choose again, and I just keep up the practice. Your words are a wonderful reminder.
May we all love those places within that sometimes get caught up in fear and use our heart's kindness to continue moving toward the hero we each are in our life stories.

Thanks, Nick, for your question about an English-language version of this article. I don't have a translation, but I can offer the comments that I provided for the article. We are about to launch a "Holistic Second Opinion" edition of our LightHearted Musings, and I'll make sure to include these suggestions as the first or second posting.

Have a great day!
