Because our focus is on you having the information you need, we have answered our most commonly asked questions here. There is that one little side benefit of not having to answer these questions over and over again, but our MAIN reason is to get you the info you need!
Although we have extensive training and experience in Western medicine and have been primary care providers in the past, our unique gifts reside in working with the interfaces among mind, body and spirit.
In order to have sufficient time to work with you on these levels, we have decided to serve as your holistic consultants and strongly recommend that you maintain a relationship with your primary care physician.
We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with both you and your primary care doctor, and we find that doctors often appreciate the feedback about their patient's health.
In our role as holistic health consultants and with our unique methods of working with you, our practice is not set up to handle emergencies or urgent care types of issues. When you have an appointment with us, you have our undivided attention, and we are careful not to let anything else interfere with that time. We also travel throughout the country for talks, presentations, and retreats, and so there may be a lag time before messages are answered. If it is a true emergency, please call 911 immediately. Otherwise, a call to your primary care physician would be the next step in taking care of the problem as quickly as possible.
We believe that everyone is capable of healing and that these abilities are largely untapped. Nobody, however, can make claims to cure anyone's illness. Healing comes in many forms, not only physical, but emotional and spiritual as well. Each is important and each influences the other.
Our purpose in bringing together Western, alternative and Mind Body Spirit approaches is to find the best in each realm for helping you on your healing path.
We strongly adhere to the idea that there are 'a thousand
paths to the sun'. We have no hidden spiritual agenda to espouse
and we respect and cherish all traditions. We view spirituality as an
exploration of your perceived place in the world, what you believe your
life is all about and what connections you have with your family, your
community, your environment, and your world. We do feel it is important
to explore your spiritual belief system as this can have a significant
impact on your health. The approaches we teach are useful regardless
of your spiritual orientation.
Most insurance companies are slowly recognizing the importance of being proactive in health care, but they don't yet value what we find to be most important to the process of true healing. Since they prefer to treat the symptoms rather than healing the underlying illness or imbalance, preventive, nutritional, and mind/body approaches are generally not paid for by insurance. This situation is slowly changing, but we're not there yet! We therefore don't accept insurance or Medicare payments.
This is a question that we are excited to answer, as we now offer health and wellness assistance to people of every means. We are dedicated to bringing holistic health information to whomever wants to explore it, and so we have provided all manner of products and services to fit any budget.

Yes, we can work with you by telephone. We are available to offer holistic medical information and emotional sustenance with your health concerns either in person or over the phone. There are also certain healing techniques that can be utilized over the phone. If we have not met you in person, then our assistance will not extend to prescribing medication. However, much can happen simply from the gathering of information and telling your story, and we are here for both.
We also offer teleseminars, our Medicine Bag Circle membership, and our LightHearted Medicine Audio CD series to provide you with the latest holistic health information.
Since we are based in Tucson, Arizona, this is a question that comes up often. Although we are deeply indebted to Dr. Weil for the doors that he has opened to Integrative Medicine, we are not affiliated in any way with his program at the University of Arizona.
Our work is distinctive in that we focus on the Mind Body Spirit realm of healing, giving equal weight to all three realms. We look for the underlying physical or emotional causes of illness while also recognizing the need to alleviate the symptoms.
We believe that mind, body and spirit are so interconnected as to be inseparable. Each needs to be addressed for true healing to occur. Healing is an internal process. It can be assisted with external modalities, but healing ultimately needs to come from within.
We are equally comfortable exploring both the shadow and the light of your life, with the recognition that your greatest light is often buried deeply in your greatest shadow. Our wish is for you to find your way to a lighthearted, joyful, and juicy life, one that is uniquely all your own.

The Synchronicity Center entrance is the "Door of Many Windows" toward the East end of the building.
